JnU students protest assault on fellows by RAB


General students of Jagannath University (JnU) on Sunday morning took to the street protesting assault of five fellows by Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members.

The blocked Ray Saheb Bazar intersection in Dhaka's old part around 9:00am, halting vehicular movement on one of the busiest city road.
The protesters also demanded action against the RAB member involved in the assault.
The protesters said some of their fellow students, who traveling in JnU's 'Uttaran-2' bus, asked to remove a RAB vehicle parked  at the front of Mayor Mohammad Hanif Flyover in Sayedabad on Thursday. Instead of removing the vehicle, the elite force members started beating them, leaving five students injured.  

Meanwhile, JnU proctor Dr Mostafa Kamal said they asked the students to wait till 1:00pm. By that time, representatives of RAB will come and seek pardon for their activities  incident, he hoped.
