Nayan receives certificate of Australian Goalkeeping Level 2 course

Only a few football coaches in the country are so lucky to have the opportunity, ability and tendency to participate in higher level training and improve themselves. Current goalkeeper coach of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra and a coach of Bangladesh national football team Nuruzzaman Nayan is one of those few and shared the good news with the Daily Observer on Friday morning about one of his recent achievements.
The smart coach of local football completed Australian Goalkeeping Level 2 course, arranged by the Football Federation Australia and approved by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), last October. Recently, he received the course certificate from the Football Federation Australia by mail.
The cheerful coach said, "The governing body of Asian football AFC is trying to improve the football in Asia and that's why AFC is trying to improve the qualities of coaching and refereeing. For that, Asian Football Confederation (AFC) is going to implement a rule strictly that a head coach or a goalkeeping coach will need to have at least an AFC Level 2 coaching certificate to coach a team in any event arranged by AFC."
Nayan added that he is the only goalkeeper coach in the country who accomplished those criteria at the time.
The coach participated in a coaching instructor course arranged by FIFA in Goa, India from 2nd to 7th June, 2019.
Besides, he is the only coach in the country trained in advanced goalkeeping and Proactive Goalkeeping. Nayan made a new trend in local football by introducing pro-active goalkeeping where a goalkeeper covers the upper flank behind the defenders apart from guarding the post. That way a custodian can intercept an attempt even before it becomes dangerous. For this reason, proactive goalkeepers are unique in movements and actions.
He is hopeful that the other coaches would be interested and able to complete the AFC Level 2 course and other advance level courses soon.
