The fourth phase of 5th Upazila Parishad Polls is going to be held in the district on March 24.  
Nomination Board at a meeting on Local Government held at Ganabhaban on Saturday finalised the nomination of the candidates who will contest with Boat symbol from Awami League (AL).
The meeting was presided over by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. After the meeting, PM Office Secretary Abdus Sobhan Golap announced the names of the nominated candidates. Adv Golam Mohiuddin, secretary of AL Manikganj, confirmed the news.
The nominated candidates for chairman post in Manikganj are: Israfil Hossain of Manikganj Sadar Upazila, Md Nurul Islam Raja of Doulatpur Upazila, Md Habibur Rahman from Ghior Upazila, Rezaur Rahman Khan from Shibalay Upazila, Dewan Saidur Rahman from Harirampur Upazila, Adv. Abdul Majid Khan Photo from Saturia Upazila and Shahidur Rahman from Singair Upazila.
