When did you start the Business?
I started ARCom back in 2004, a few months before I started university.
How you started this early? Why?
I was exposed to Computer relatively early than most kids, and also got into programming. In 2001 I was introduced to Web Development, at the start it was more about blogging. I was mainly making a website with Yahoo Geocities, and later Blogger.com. But my only web programming experience was basic level HTML, so was having a hard time editing Blogger's blog. I discovered WordPress, at the very end of 2003, which was in its infancy. Very soon, I found my passion for website building, and the freedom WordPress had given me, so I started making websites, soon it became hard to manage by my own, and I hired people, like I hired a designer first, as my design skill was questionable to even myself!
How WordPress helped in your career?
WordPress is easy, and I think that's the main reason why over 33% of the entire web is built using WordPress. I was able to get started easy, as its OpenSource, and I got all the benefits of an early adopter. From start, I was closely following WordPress's Co-founder Matt Mullenweg and became very closely connected over the years.
How you started investment?
Because of my publication "The Tech Journal" & WordPress speaking invitation, I was visiting all around the world by 2011 already. And because of my good friend-circle, including Matt Mullenweg, I was able to jump start my investment. At that time there was no Angel List, all the investment was via private syndicate, I was fortunate my friend referred me a few deals. I found my new passion in helping other founders. Later got a chance to invest in Facebook before their IPO, which opened many other doors.
