BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Tuesday urged Awami League general secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader to look at chaotic roads and public transport instead of advising BNP and others.

"Awami League general secretary has now opened a counseling centre for others driving out the rule of law from the country.  Look at the chaotic roads and public transport refraining from advice to others," he said.
Speaking at a press conference at the party's Nayapaltan central office, the BNP leader further said, "You (Quader) cannot avoid the responsibility for the anarchy in the public transport and deaths of thousands of people on the roads. Even, 20 people were killed yesterday (Monday) on the roads." He also alleged that people are now going through immense sufferings on the roads and highways due to mismanagement and indiscipline while many people are getting crippled in road accidents.
Rizvi said Obaidul Quader and other ruling party leaders are regularly giving other parties various suggestions forgetting their failures in discharging their duties. He alleged that the law enforcers are indulging in a serious trade in the name of placing chargesheets in fictitious cases filed against BNP leaders and activists.

"The Prime Minister of midnight voting, Sheikh Hasina, a few days back asked police to promptly complete their investigation into the cases. Getting such instruction, the law enforcers have now got desperate and intensified their repressive acts. They're realising huge amount of money from BNP leaders and activists in the name of giving chargesheets in fictitious cases," Rizvi said. He also alleged that police are taking money from the BNP leaders who are coming out of jail on bail threatening them of showing them arrested in other cases. "Even, money is being taken regularly from those who're staying in jail in many ways."

The BNP leader said police are also maligning BNP leaders and activists by implicating them in drug cases.
Claiming that their party Chairperson Khaleda Zia's health condition has deteriorated sharply, he demanded the government ensure proper treatment by her personal physicians through releasing her from jail.    -UNB
