Dhaka Abahani, the traditional sky blue jerseys, defeated Old Dhaka club Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society by 5-1 margin in the fourth round of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League football on Saturday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka. Local scorer Nabib Newaj Jibon made a hat-trick netting three goals for the defending champion while foreign scorer Sunday Chizoba made a brace. In reply, Rahmatganj foreign scorer Siyo Zunapio Jeancy reduced the margin scoring one goal. Before that, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club defeated the team of Bangladesh Jute Mills' Corporation (BJMC) by 2-0 margin in the first match of the fourth round of the league at the Shaheed Bhulu Stadium in Noakhali. Argentine striker Luciano Araya Perez opened the net for the Dhanmondi club in the 13th minute of the match while Ghana-born Kyrgyz attacking midfielder David Tetteh doubled the lead for the winners in the 33rd minute. Despite making a few opportunities, the Jamal boys failed to utilise any to score a goal in the second half. There are two matches of the league today (Sunday) in separate venues. In the first match, Arambagh Krira Sangha and Chittagong Abahani will meet at 3:00pm at the Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh. On the other hand, Gopibagh's Brothers Union will meet Saif Sporting Club at 4:00pm at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka.
