MUMBAI, JAN 16: Former captains Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene are likely to remain present when Sri Lanka's high-profile restaurant Ministry of Crab is all set to open in Mumbai next month.
"The tentative date of launching the seafood restaurant in Mumbai's Western suburb (Khar West) is February 14 and the work at the site is in full swing", one of the sources from Colombo, said to this reporter.
The Ministry of Crab in Sri Lanka is owned by celebrity chef Dharshan Munidasa and cricketers, Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jaywardene.
"Both Sangakkara and Jaywardene are overseas (Mahela coaching Khulna Titans team in Bangladesh Premier League) but will certainly spare time to come over on the day of opening", the source added.
Japan-born chef Dharshan Munidasa, who was in Philippines on Tuesday is a self-taught culinary expert and will spend few days in Mumbai before the launching of this restaurant.
The renovation work at the site, where earlier it was a popular jewelry showroom, is being carried out by an interior design firm-Tranform Projects Pvt. Ltd.

Mahela and Sanga, both refused to divulge about the project but are certain to be hoping for a great innings in India.
