A 47-member cabinet, led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, will be formed on Monday after Awami League’s absolute victory in Bangladesh’s 11th parliamentary election.
Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam at a briefing on Sunday announced the names of the persons to be picked in the new cabinet.
The oath-taking ceremony of the new cabinet, led by Prime Minister
Sheikh Hasina, will be held at 3.30pm Monday.
Of the cabinet members, 24 were given the portfolios of ministers while 19 state ministers and three got portfolios of deputy ministers. The cabinet includes a number of a new faces.
The official gazette over the new cabinet will be published immediately after oath-taking ceremony, said the Cabinet Secretary.
As per the list of the cabinet members, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will keep the portfolios for Cabinet Division, Ministry of Public Administration, Ministry of Defence, Armed Forces Division, Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources and Ministry of Women and Children Affairs.
