Jatiya Oikyafront convener Dr Kamal Hossain at a press conference at his house in Dhaka Sunday night rejected the poll results and demanded fresh election under a non-partisan interim government immediately.

Rejecting the results of the national elections, Jatiya Oikyafront leader Dr Kamal Hossain on Sunday demanded a fresh election under a non-partisan caretaker government as soon as possible.
"We have seen the picture of the election held on Sunday. They haven't allowed the Oikyafront agents inside the polling centers. Ousting the agents, the ruling party activists captured all polling centres and cast votes for "Boat" symbol," Dr Kamal said, mentioning the names of the polling centres captured allegedly by the ruling Awami League.

The senior jurist of the country made the statement while giving the reaction of Oikyafront at a press conference held at his office at Motijheel in the capital at around 8:00pm.
Blaming the Election Commission for its failure to hold a free and fair poll, Dr Kamal said Sunday's election has proved that no free and fair election can be held under a partisan government. A non-partisan caretaker government is a must to hold a free, fair and credible election.

"We (Oikyafront) are rejecting the results of the polls and demanding a free and fair election under a neutral caretaker government," he added. In the press conference, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alam told reporters that they would inform the EC about the allegations in writing today (Monday). He also claimed that the decision of abstention from the January 5, 2014 poll was not wrong. It is proved that a non-partisan caretaker government is a must for holding a free and fair election in the country.
