A man was killed in police firing during a clash between Awami League and BNP activists in Sadar upazila of Brahmanbaria district on Sunday morning while voting was on.
The deceased was identified as Ismail Mia, 20, said Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital official Shawkat Hossain, reports a Bangla newspaper.
Witnesses said BNP and AL leaders and activists clashed when Brahmanbaria-3 constituency AL candidate Obaidul Muktadir Chowdhury went to Rajghar Government Primary School to cast his vote around 11:00am.
Police fired gun shots to calm down the clashing groups, leaving Ismail injured with bullet.
The injured was rushed to the hospital where he died, the official added.
