The environment ready to arrange fair election?

Dear Sir

Elections constitute one of the most important pillars of democracy. In an immature democratic culture like Bangladesh it may be the most important thing to judge democracy; and general people emphasize most on elections rather than other elements of democracy. But how elections look like in a democratic atmosphere? Let's talk about the upcoming 11th parliamentary election. As a student of Political Science or merely as a conscious citizen still I can't see the clement environment condition for holding a free, fair and well accepted election. Level playing fields for all players have become a day dream. Assault on election campaigner and threat are common phenomenon. In fact, people are seem to be feared to go to the election centre. The election commission, law enforcement bodies and the administration all together could have created an environment where fair election can be arranged.

Overall, we the citizens are still not so much hopeful about the upcoming election. Actually, willingness to hold a good election can offer a good election. whether the election will be free and fair now depends on the good will of election related authorities.
