Popular actress Popy will be seen in 'Indubala', the first web series of her career. The 10-episode series starring Tariq Anam Khan, Shahiduzzaman Selim and Anchal, among others, is directed by Ananya Mamun. It will be uploaded on the digital platform of 'Cinespot' in the first week of November.
A part of the shooting was done in Kolkata last week while the rest will take place in Dhaka from 26 October.
Popy has won three national film awards for Best Actress. She started her career with a showbiz programme named 'Lux Ananda Bichitra' in 1995. She has acted in numerous commercials and over 200 Bengali-language films.
Popy debuted in the 1997 Coolie, with actor Omar Sunny and directed by Montazur Rahman Akbar. Her second movie co starring with Shakil khan in Amar Ghor Amar Behesht, directed by Sohanur Rahman Sohan was also released in late 1997. Popy acted in Akbar's next film Ke Amar Baba with the hero Manna; the movie also did well; she had now acted in three films, all of them commercial successes.
Afterwards Popy became hugely popular through her performance in the movie Lal Badsha produced by Manna. She has also appeared in films with Riaz, Ferdous, Bapparaz, Ameen Khan, Shakib Khan, Emon, Amit Hasan and Rubel. Popy has received three National Film Awards for the films Karagar, Gongajatra and Megher Kole Rod. She also acted in several television dramas.
