Joya Ahsan with Kaushik Ganguly in a scene from the film Bisarjan
Joya Ahsan will be seen in Bangladeshi theatres in two consecutive
months this year. It has already been revealed that she will be seen
tomorrow in her own production 'Debi' as Humayun Ahmed's pivotal
character Ranu. But now it has been revealed that in the next month she
will appear again as Padma in Kaushik Ganguly's film 'Bisarjan.' The
Indian production will be released in accordance with the SAFTA
agreement between Bangladesh and India. Bisarjan is one of the
milestones in Joya's career. For her acting in the film Joya has won
best actress award in India's Zee Cine Award and Filmfare Award.
Bisarjan was released last year on April 14 in West Bengal, India. The
film went on to bag the Bengali Film Award last year in India's National
Film Awards. The film also casts Abir Chatterjee opposite Joya. The
film got Bangladesh Film Censor Board's approval on October 14. It has
been imported by chief of In-Win Enterprise, Iftekhar Uddin Nowshad. He
has said that due to restrictions on release of foreign films at times
of festivals like Eid, the film could not be released in Ramadan as had
been planned.
