Value of heritage stamp will never be devalued, says Jhulan Goswami

  

Mumbai, April 27: During her childhood Jhulan Goswami had a hobby of collecting postal stamps when her mother and grand-mother used to get posts.
The 35-year-old India's pacer is honoured with the stamp.
"In the modern era, postcards and inland letters are hardly used and their place have been taken by e mails and courier service but that does not diminish the value of the postal stamp", Goswami, speaking exclusively from Kolkata, says.
"Time has changed and new technologies have come". "I shall preserve this stamp and cherish every moment of it. It is a great honour. We can't devalue the heritage stamps".
"It was an initiative by the Vision of Bengal. During recent tri-series in India, my permission was taken when I was playing a match against England and it is a great honour", she added.
Only four persons of India have been honoured with their respective postal stamps when alive. They are late Mother Terressa, late Rajeev Gandhi, Sachin Tendulkar and now Jhulan Goswami.  
"I feel proud to be honoured with these legends. Sachin is my idol and I started playing cricket after watching him play. I am very small against these great personalities", she said.
