SC signs MoU with Russian SC to modernise judiciary |
The Supreme Court on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Russian apex court to share experience and knowledge for modernising the judiciary. Acting Chief Justice M Abdul Wahhab Miah and Russian Chief Justice Vyacheslav M Lebedev signed the MoU on behalf of their respective sides at the SC Judges' Lounge in the morning. Under the agreement, Russia will provide technological help in establishing E-service for the management of judgments and cases, said the acting Chief Justice, hoping that the E-service will reduce cost and labour, and save time. He also said the relations between Dhaka and Moscow have reached a new height with the signing of the MoU. Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain, Justice Muhammad Imman Ali, Justice Mirza Hussain Haider and the Russian ambassador in Dhaka were also present. UNB |
