SSC exam fee fixed at Tk 1,550

The Inter-Education Board Coordination Sub-Committee under the Ministry of Education has fixed the maximum limit of fees for the student to fill up the forms of the upcoming Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations of 2018 at Tk 1,550 only.
The student of the science group will have to pay the highest amount of examination fee. The amount will be Tk 1,370 for the commerce and arts group students. However, all of the student will have to pay Tk 100 as late fee in case of failure to fill up the form in time.
Following the instructions of the committee, Dhaka, Chittagong and Madrashah Education boards have already issued separate circulars. The circulars have already been sent to the schools under the boards for following it strictly, the board authorities claimed.
The rest of the education boards will also issue same circulars for the schools under their jurisdiction.
Dhaka Education Board Chairman Prof Mahbubur Rahman told journalists that all of the education institutions - schools, technical or vocational institutes and Madrashahs - will have to go through the decision of the committee. Any kinds of violation of the decision will not be tolerated. The authorities will take necessary actions in case of any violation of the decision.
According to the decision, the schools, technical or vocational institutes and Madrashahs must have to publish results of qualifying test examinations by November 5 this year to start form fill up from November 7. The students will be allowed to fill up their form till November 12.
The students, however, will be allowed to fill up the forms till November 18 beginning from November 14 by paying late fees.
According to the decision, the educational institutes will be allowed to take Tk 80 as form fill up fees for each of the subjects. For each of the subjects, Tk 30 will be taken for practical tests. Besides, Tk 35 as transcript fees, Tk 100 as main certificate fees, Tk 15 as scout or girls guide fees, Tk 5 for Students Week and Tk 300 will be taken for annual sports fees.
Meanwhile, the students who don't have practical exams will have pay Tk 250 as center fees while Tk 300 will be taken as center fees from the students who have practical examinations. The private examinees will have to pay Tk 100 extra.
Regarding charging extra fees, Board Chairman Mahbubur Rahman said the authority will try heart and soul to prevent any irregularity.
