2 cops suspended over edu secy’s being shot

Two police constables have been temporarily suspended over the incident of bullet-injury of Dhaka education board secretary Shahedul Khabir Chowdhury.

Police’s Gulshan division deputy commissioner Moshtak Ahmed Khan confirmed the matter on Friday.

The suspended are Imran Hossain and Ashraful Islam.

Shahedul Khabir was injured in police gunshot near Westin hotel in Gulshan of the capital on Thursday night.

Shahedul alleged he was waiting in front of the hotel to return home after attending a meeting of education cadre officers last night while several police personnel were on duty there close to him.

The bullet from one of their guns hit me, he added.
