Bangladesh restricted hosts New Zealand at 251/10 in the 2nd ODI of their three-match series at Saxton Oval in Nelson on Thursday.

Number-4 batsman Neil Broom hammered unbeaten century of 109 runs off 107 balls, including eight boundaries and three over boundaries.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Luke Ronchi (35), James Neesham (28) Tom Latham (22) and skipper Kane Williamson (14) and Trent Boult (12) were the other batsmen who scored double figures.

Choosing to field after winning the toss, Mashrafe started his show from the beginning of the innings for his three-for, sending opener Martin Guptill back with duck in the 4th ball of the very 1st over of the innings when the team’s collection was also zero.

Later, the Tigers skipper bowled out Colin Munro at 107/5 in 25.3 overs and finally dismissed Lockie Ferguson, was caught by debutant Nurul Hasan, at 228/9 in 46.5 overs. The Tigers' skipper conceded 49 runs in 10 overs.

Delivering 10 overs and conceding 45 runs each, all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and pacer Taskin Ahmed captured two wickets apiece.

Promising spinner Mosaddek Hossain and debutant pace bowler Subashis Roy took one wicket each for 12 and 45 runs in two and 10 overs.

The Tigers skipper experimented his side strength well, making three changes in the playing eleven that played in the first ODI at Christchurch where the Kiwis won by 77-run to take 1-0 series lead.

Nurul Hasan made his ODI debut replacing injured wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim who was retired hurt from the 1st match, after scoring 42 runs, suffering a hamstring injury that sidelined him from the squad for the first time in more than six years.

Mashrafe sent deceitful left-handed cutter master Mustafizur Rahman to rest and dropped Soumya Sarkar, replacing them by debuts pacer Subashis Roy and legspinner Tanbir Hayder respectively.
