Nine cops' families get financial aid from PM
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday handed over cheques as financial aid to the family members of four policemen who died in terror attacks on Holey Artisan Bakery in Gulshan and Solakia Eid Jamaat in Kishoreganj in July.
Senior Assistant Superintendent of the Detective Branch of police, Rabiul Karim, and the Officer-in-Charge of Banani Police Station, Salauddin Khan, were shot dead in the Gulshan attack on July 1 in 2016.
Constable Zahurul Haque and Ansarul Haque died in the terror attack on Solakia Eid Jamaat on July 7.
The Prime Minister handed over nine cheques for Tk 50 lakh to the family members of the deceased policemen at a function at Prime Minister's Tejgaon Office, Ihsanul Karim, Press Secretary to the Prime Minister, said.
Family members of the policemen broke into tears while receiving the cheques. The Prime Minister consoled them and assured of remaining beside them in future.
Kariman Nesa, mother of Rabiul, his father Sajedul Islam, wife Umme Salma, Begum Reem Karim, wife of Salauddin Khan, his daughter Samanta, son Sem Raiyan, Rebeya Akhter, mother of constable Ansarul Haque, his wife Nurunahar Begum and Zubaida Khatun, mother of Zahirul Islam, received the cheques.
PM's Political Adviser HT Imam, PMO Secretary Suraiya Begum, Home Secretary Kamal Uddin Ahmed and IGP Shahidul Haq were present at the ceremony.
