BD Navy to be a dimensional force: Chief Admiral
KHULNA, Dec 27: "Bangladesh Navy will be a dimensional force," said Navy Chief Admiral Nizam Uddin Ahmed.
He was passing out parade marking the induction of B/2016 batch of 783 New Entry Sailors in Bangladesh Navy at BNS Titumir Parade Ground at Khalishpur in the city on Tuesday as chief guest. He also congratulated the new entry sailors of B/2016 batch for their outstanding performance in the service related to national security and prosperity.
Addressing the newly-inducted sailors, the chief guest urged them to build up themselves worthy sailors implementing the education in future professional life which they acquired from the sailors' school.
He also advised them to remain careful in maintaining all naval warships and equipment which are sacred deposition of the nation.
He called upon them to build up their competency through implementing the knowledge that they acquired from the Navy in their work.
With retrospect of the spirit and sacrifice of the freedom fighters, the Navy chief urged the Navy men to go ahead with determination to defend the independence and sovereignty of the country at any cost.
Terming Bangladesh as a role model country for development in the globe, he said that capability of Navy has increased and activities to make a modern Navy are under process.
As part of strengthening the navy, two submarines- 'Nobojatra' and 'Joyjatra', have already reached Bangladesh.
Earlier, the chief guest reviewed the smartly turned out parade and took salute at the march past.
He distributed "Noubahini Pradhan Padak", "Kamkhul Padak" and "Titumir Padak" to three newly-enrolled sailors who obtained first, second and third position for their outstanding performances.
The spectacular parade was witnessed, among others, by Principal Staff Officer of Naval Headquarters, Commodore Commanding Khulna M Shamsul Alam and local high civil and military officials of Khulna and Jessore area.
