Quader urges meritorious students joining politics
Road Transport and Bridges Minister, also Awami League General Secretary, Obaidul Quader on Saturday urged the meritorious students to join politics to defeat the 'meritless and hybrids persons' trying to grab the country's politics.
He came up with the remarks while inaugurating the council of Home Economics College unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League at the college auditorium in the morning.
With Hall unit BCL leader Farjana Akhtar Suparna in the chair, among others, Acting Principal of the college Prof Nishat Parveen, BCL President Saifur Rahman Sohag and General Secretary SM Jakir Hossain addressed the programme.
Quader also called for practicing self-purification in politics adding, "If one asks others to stop corruption without doing so, it will go in vain."
Quader said Bangladesh under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has done an unprecedented job in women empowerment.
"Because of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's bold leadership, it has been possible to bring the 1971 war criminals and killers of Bangabandhu to justice" he reitarated.
Ziasmin Ara Ruma and Papia Islam have been made president and general secretary of Home Economics College unit BCL respectively. Junnun Saki and Moriom Akter Hira were made vice-presidents, Iffat Ara Khanam, Sharmin Sultana as joint secretaries and Iffat Sadia Ahmed and Naznin akter were made organizing secretaries in the new committee.
