Bangkok Hospital, CMCH to provide free check up

CHITTAGONG, Oct 31: With a view to preventing breast cancer and creating awareness among mass people about the disease, Bangkok Hospital and Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on 'Breast Cancer Screening and Awareness project' on Monday.
In this connection a programme was held at Hotel Radisson Nilgiri hall room in the afternoon. Before the programme, the organizers exchanged their views with journalists and briefed on the projects.
This is the first ever Private Public Partnership project on breast cancer for one year duration in the country.
Under the project, a special team of Bangkok Hospital will train up some physicians of CMCH who will conduct check up of breast cancer patients without any fees.
Meanwhile, according to Bangladesh National Cancer Research Institute report, around 27.4 percent of women patients have been suffering from this disease and most of them is diagnosed at the last stage.
