Two held with hemp in Barishal

Narcotics Control Department in a drive arrested two men along with 35 kilograms of hemp from Barishal-Dhaka highway at Wazirpur upazila in Barishal district on Sunday morning.

The arrested are Monir Bepari, 48, resident of Banaripur upazila and Khorshed Alam, 30, resident of Saldoba village in Gazipur.

Barishal Narcotics Control Department Assistant Director Enayet Hosen said acting on a tip-off, a team of the department members set a check-post on the Barishal-Dhaka highway and arrested the men along with the drugs.

A case was filed with Wazirpur Model Police Station against them under Narcotics Control Act, the official added.
