Elderly woman killed in road crash

An elderly woman was killed when a bus crashed her on Hathazari-Nazirhat highway near Katirhat area of Hathazari upazila on Sunday afternoon.

The deceased was Kadiza Begum, 55, wife Md Abdul Huq of Dhalai union of Hathazari upazila.

Locals said the accident occurred around 3pm on Sunday when a Chattogram-bound bus from Fatikchhari knock Khadiza down near Katirhat area of Hathazari upazila, leaving her critically injured.

After rescuing her locals rushed Khadiza to Upazila health complex where on duty doctors declared her dead.

Sub-Inspector of Nazirhat Highway Police said on information reached to the spot and seized the bus.
