Awami League works for people, it never flees: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that the Awami League works for people and it never flees the country.

"Awami League is with people of Bangladesh and always will be," she said while speaking at a public rally at Rajshahi's Madrasa ground in Rajshahi city on Sunday.

The Prime Minister made the remarks in response to BNP secretary general's remarks on Saturday that the government was trying to find scope of fleeing the country.

Sheikh Hasina said: "Awami League has no record of running away, but their (BNP) leaders had fled from the country."

"Their (BNP) leader ran away with corruption allegations, and they gave an explanation saying that the will not do politics. He smuggled money," she said.

The prime minister added that the Awami League works for the people of Bangladesh.





It is an organization created by Bangabandhu. This party has made the country self-sufficient in food by working for its people."
