MBBS course at Northern International Medical College
The first year admission process of limited seats for MBBS course at Northern International Medical College (NIMC) has already begun at its own campus in the city's Dhanmondi area.
The students who have qualified the recently held admission test and securing minimum 40 marks out of 100 marks under the Directorate of Health, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare could get admission at MBBS course in the college.
Northern International Medical College started its journey in 2005 with a vision to provide skilled physicians in the country's health sector as a non-profitable and welfare organisation. It may be mentioned here that the only 6 batches have completed their MBBS degree
Location: The Medical College is located at House No 84, Road No 8/A (Old 15), Dhanmondi in the capital with a view to produce skilled physicians for facing the twenty-first century's challenges in the health sector. The college's campus is surrounded by a 380-bedded hospital at its own building with 24-hour services.
Teachers: A large number of highly qualified and experienced teachers are serving their jobs with the leadership of Prof. Dr Md Anwar Hussain as its principal. Most of the NIMC teachers are highly qualified and they always try to provide quality education to student in the classes. It has sufficient subject-wise teachers also. They follow higher-class method of teaching for the betterment of the students through regular classes, group discussions and examinations.
Lab facility: The NIMC students always enjoy practical classes with sufficient laboratory facilities in its own 350-bedded hospital with outdoor and indoor services. The college's teachers are very much cooperative to the students in this connection.
Library facility: The Northern International Medical College has a library with digital facilities including computers and internet connection. The collection of necessary books, reference books, dictionaries, periodicals, magazines, journals and newspapers is available in the NIMC library by an experienced librarian.
Principal of the College Prof. Dr Md Anwar Hussain said, "We are trying to provide skilled physicians for the betterment of the country's health sector, regarding this, there is no alternative to practical experience for students in medical science education. We also provide such education to students through lab-based practical classes and indoor and outdoor facilities of the NIMC Hospital. We provide both indoor & outdoor services to the poor patients on the campus & outside the campus.
About the future plan of the Northern International Medical College Hospital, NIMC Chairman Prof. Dr. Abu Yousuf Md Abdullah said, "We have already taken a lot of programmes to ensure quality of education for facing the 21st century's challenges in the country's health sector through production of skilled physicians. He added that we also fulfill the poor & meritorious quotas as per govt. rules."
