Counselling for students
In dictionary counselling is defined as a type of talking therapy that allows a person to talk about their problems and feelings in a confidential and dependable environment. A counsellor is trained to listen with empathy by putting themselves in one's shoes. They can help one deal with any negative thoughts and feelings one has. When one goes through mental pressure, one may need for a counselling session to get rid of that. Similarly it seems imperative now that arrangements should be made that the youth of this country undergo psychological counselling sessions.
Somewhere along the lines of dealing with peer pressure, academic competition and seeing anarchy on the streets every day, their minds have become a ticking time bomb, filled with distress and frustration, ready to blow at any second. Schools are offering career counselling but little to no aid is given to personal matters of a student, in a time when compassion is of utmost importance. In order to help them overcome the battlefield in their minds, there should be proper psychological counselling sessions held in schools, as a school is the only place that can truly help a child overcome his emotional terrors.
