Khurshid Hossain takes charge of RAB DG

Additional Inspector General of Police M Khurshid Hossain took over the charges of the Director General of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Friday (September 30, 2022).
He took over the charges of RAB, a specialised police force, as the 9th DG.
It was confirmed RAB's Media Wing director Commander Khandker Al Moin on Friday afternoon.
On September 22, the Home Ministry's Public Security Division issued a notification appointing Additional Inspector General of Police M Khurshid Hossain as the new DG of RAB.
Newly appointed RAB DG Khurshid was born in a respectable Muslim family at village West Barashur under Kashiani Sadar Union in Kashiani upazila of Gopalganj district on June 5, 1964. His father Md Abul Hossain and mother Khadiza Begum. He is the eldest among his four brothers and six sisters. After completing higher education, Khurshid Hossain joined Police Cadre passing the 12th Bangladesh Civil Service examination.
He was recommended to be appointed as the Additional IGP (Grade-2) post of the BCS (Police) cadre at the ninth meeting of the Superior Selection Board. Later on May 12, 2021, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina approved it. He was appointed the Additional IGP on May 16 of that year.
Khurshid will retire on June 4 next year.
