ICE Innovation Lab inaugurated at IU
An ICE Innovation Lab was inaugurated at the department of Information and Communication Engineering (ICE) of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Wednesday. ICE department organized a colourful inauguration programme at the university central auditorium around 11am with the assistances of its former students.
Vice Chancellor of the university Professor Dr M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari inaugurated the lab as chief guest. Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr M Shahinoor Rahman, Treasurer Professor Dr M Selim Toha, Dean of Applied Science and Technology Faculty Professor Dr M Samsul Alam, ICE dept Senior Professor Dr M Mahbubur Rahman spoke here as special guests, among others.
Chairman of the department M. Shariful Islam presided over the programme and student of the department Shamsia Akter Goti conducted the function while lab coordinator Professor Dr M Jahidul Islam and assistant coordinator M Jasim Uddin were present.
Three former students of the department contributed to buy all the Internet of Things (IoT) related equipments including with Sensor, Rasperri pi, Arduino, Sheild etc for the Innovation Lab.
The three former students are managing director of Nationtech Ltd Iftekharul Islam Shimul, project manager of Leads Corporation Ltd M Shamsul Haque Ripon and lecturer of Fraunhofer SIT, Germany Dr Khondoker Rahmatullah.
The lab will provide so many opportunities for the teachers and students to bring forth new idea. In the primary level, it will be working of Internet of things (IoT).
