Admission to all schools must be completed by Dec 30
The admission processes from Class I to IX at public and private schools will have to be completed by December 30, while selected students must be admitted through a central lottery system.
It was stated in an office order signed by Dr Syed Golam Faruque, director-general of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Directorate, on Thursday.
The DG said all the public and private schools were directed to complete their admission processes by December 30 next. At the same time, all concerned were informed so that no tests were taken for admission of students.
The selected students, from Class I-IX, will be admitted from December 18-23, while the students in the waiting lists will be picked between December 26 and 30.
On the other hand, students at private schools will be admitted from December 21-27, while students on the waiting lists will be enrolled from December 28-30.
Sources said one student would be able to apply to five schools in total and submit their application through Teletalk.
The lottery for public schools will be held on December 15, while the one for private schools on December 19.
The authorities will later inform the students if they were selected in the lottery system through Teletalk and the website of the schools they had selected for admission.
Submission of online applications for admissions started on November 25 and ended on December 8, as per the decision taken earlier following a series of discussions on the issue.
