Daily-death toll from Covid-19 drops to 5

Five persons have died being infected with coronavirus during the last 24 hours till 8:00am on Monday.

Among them, two were male and three female. Two of them died in Dhaka, two in Chattogram and one in Khulna.

With them, a total of 27,828 persons have died from Covid-19 in the country. Nine died of Covid-19 on Sunday.

At the same time, 289 fresh cases were detected after testing their samples, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in a press release on Monday.

With them the Covid caseload climbed to 15,67,981 in Bangladesh.

Comorbidities among Covid patients and deceased increased 6.1% this week compared to the previous week. Comorbidity means the simultaneous presence of two or more diseases or medical conditions in a patient.

However, the mortality rate remained static at 1.77 per cent compared to the corresponding period.

The recovery rate also increased slightly to 97.68 per cent, with 364 more patients getting cured.
