Dhaka, 4 other divisions report no Covid death

Six more died being infected with coronavirus in the last 24 hours till 8:00am on Wednesday. During the same period, 368 more people tested positive for the virus.
The positivity rate declined to 1.80% in the preceding 24 hours, a day after it rose above 2% in the country.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) stated it in a press release on Wednesday afternoon.
On Tuesday, the DGHS reported that the daily Covid-19 deaths dropped to 7, while 469 were infected with the virus during the 24-hour period.
From the end of June to the end of August, the daily Covid-19 deaths were more than 100. Even, there were some days when the Covid-19 death tolls passed 200 each day. On August 5 and 10, highest 264 people died of the deadly virus infection.
The DGHS says in its press release that with the latest additions, the death toll reached 27,791 and the case tally increased to 15,66,668 in the country on Wednesday.
Among the deaths reported Wednesday, three died in Chattogram, two in Rajshahi and one died in Khulna divisions. None died from Covid in Dhaka, Rangpur, Rajshahi, Barishal, Sylhet and Mymensingh divisions.
Of the six persons died of coronavirus infection, five died at government hospitals while one at a private hospital. Among them, four were male and two female.
Also, 481 patients were declared free of Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, with a 97.63% recovery rate.
The Covid-19 victims' breakdown shows that 17,791 of the total deceased across the country were men and 9,989 were women.
The country's maiden cases were reported on March 8 last year and the first death from the virus was reported on March 18.
