Jubo Dal-police clash in B'baria, 10 hurt

A clash between Jubo Dal men and police personnel at Kasba upazila in Brahmanbaria district has left at least 10 people injured.

The incident occurred at about 10am on Monday when Jubo Dal leaders and activists brought out a procession, led by upazila unit Jubo Dal new convening committee convener Masudul Haque Dipu, from Anantapur's Balur Math.

Police, however, dispersed the procession and detained district unit Chhatra Dal joint general secretary Sirajul Haque Imu from the spot.

Several journalists were also injured during the chase and counter-chase.

Masudul Haque alleged, "As a new committee has been formed, we brought out a joyous procession. The law enforcers stopped and attacked our peaceful procession."

Kasba Police Station OC Alamgir Bhuiyan said Jubo Dal members brought out a procession without permission. For this, police dispersed them.
