Mother, son die from electrocution in Thakurgaon

A woman and her son died from electrocution at Ranisankail upazila in Thakurgaon district on Friday evening.

The deceased were identified as Afroza Begum, 60, a resident of Balidara village under Nandua union, and his son Abdul Quader, 35.

The union parishad chairman Jamirul Islam said Abdul Quader was electrocuted while switching on an irrigation pump in a field at the village.

Afroza also fell victim to the electric shock while trying to rescue her son. They both died on the spot.

Being informed, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Thakurgaon Sadar Hospital morgue, said Ranisankail Police Station officer in-charge SM Zahid Iqbal.
