Body of yet another boy found in Cox's Bazar, 4 companions arrested
Body of yet another boy washed ashore on Cox's Bazar sea beach on Saturday, one day after two bodies were found similarly.
The deceased was identified as Meher Farabi Avra.
Lifeguards recovered the body at around 11:00am on Saturday from Nazirartek Point on the beach. The body was later sent to the Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue.
Cox's Bazar District Administration executive magistrate (Tourism Cell) Syed Murad Islam confirmed the matter.
He said Taufique Mokbul (22), a resident of Dhaka's Adabor area and a student of BRAC University drowned around the same Seagull Point on September 16 last.
Syed Murad Islam said a seven-member group came in Cox's Bazar from Kotwali area in Jashore on September 16 last. Then they got into Hotel Beach Holiday. The body of one of them was found at Seagull Point of the beach on Friday.
"Then we launched an appeal through miking to identify the boy, but the companions came with him had remained totally silent," he said. As a result, his identity could not be ascertained.
Mahbub Alam, supervisor of the beach workers, said a young man was rescued from the Nazirartek Point area of the beach after 11:00am on Saturday.
Two bodies were recovered from Seagull Point of Cox's Bazar sea beach on Friday.
Later, four persons were handed over to Cox's Bazar Sadar Police Station for questioning. They were Raihan Masud, Rohan Uddin, Muhibul Hasan and Fardin Khan. All of them hail from the same area in Jashone.
On the other hand, another floating body was found at the Seagull Point of Cox's Bazar on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Md Imon, 18. He was the son of Abul Kalam of Kalatoli Chandrima Ground in Cox's Bazar city.
Police are yet to ascertain why this young man died.
