BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has alleged that the government is giving false information to the nation about the Covid deaths and cases.
“Information provided by the government is not accurate. According to them, 12, 64, 328 people have been identified as Covid positive till Sunday (August 1), which is a complete lie,” said Fakhrul while addressing at a virtual programme on Monday.
This virtual event was organized by Lalmonirhat district unit BNP to inaugurate Covid-19 help center and to provide assistance to the victims of coronavirus infection.
Fakhrul said, “What they (the government) say and the information they give is only to maintain their power, to confuse the people, to deceive them.”
He further said, “They (the government) say that 20,914 people have died so far. We can challenge and say that the number of deaths at home is 75 per cent, according to newspaper reports. Then think. Add 65 percent along with 20,914 deaths and then this number will never be less than one lakh.”
He said, “We have been talking about various inconsistencies of the government regarding Covid. If you do not get the actual information, what will be the solution? So, you are making a mistake in the first place and knowingly doing it wrong.”
Today, unfortunately, the government has taken a stand against the people, cheating the people, no responsible government can do that, added Fakhrul.
