FF laid to rest with state honour in Bandarban

Valiant freedom fighter Md Shamsul Alam, 80, was laid to rest with state honour at Lama upazila in Bandarban district on Tuesday.

He died of old-age complications at a private hospital at Chakaria upazila in Cox's Bazar district at about 11:00pm on Monday. 

Upazila Assistant Commissioner (land) Md Shahjahan, Upazila Parishad Chairman Mostafa Jamal, Lama Municipality Mayor Md Zahirul Islam and other freedom fighters gave him guard of honour with placing floral wreaths on his coffin around 10:00am.

His namaj-e-janaza was held around 11:00am.

Freedom fighter Shamsul Alam was buried at a graveyard at Faitong union under the upazila.
