Ex-DG of PMO Mahmudur Rahman dies

Former Director General of the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) Dr Md Mahmudur Rahman Niru died on Saturday morning while he was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Dhaka.
His brother Habibur Rahman said second son of Mojibar Rahman Talukder, former parliament member from Barguna-3 constituency, Mahmudur Rahman had been suffering various physical complications including Covid-19.
He left nehind his wife, a daughter and two sons to mourn his death. His janaza and burial will be held at his village home in Barguna.
Dr Md Mahmudur Rahman was personal secretary to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's former political advisers SA Maleque and HT Imam. He used to write columns on economy in different newspapers under his pen name "Anu Mahmud". Several of his books written on Bangabandhu and Economics have already been published.
