High Court to sit in limited form until August 5 amid lockdown



The judicial activities of High Court will continue until August 5 next during the strict lockdown announced by the government in the wake of coronavirus situation, said the Supreme Court administration in a press release on Friday.

The press release said a full court meeting was held on Friday afternoon with the participation of the Appellate Division and High Court Division judges. Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain chaired the meeting.

The meeting decided to operate three benches for writs and civil cases, criminal cases, and company and admiralty cases.

Three High Court judges will hold the hearing on veryu important matters and provide interim orders using the information technology and through virtual presence.

Besides, the meeting decided vaccinating all the officials and employees of the Supreme Court by July 31.
