Chuadanga sees 50 more Covid cases with 47.17% positivity rate

As many as 76  more people contacted novel coronavirus in the last 24 hours in Chuadanga district, taking the total cases to 2,523.

Chuadanga civil surgeon Dr ASM  Maruf  Hasan confirmed the matter at around 10 am on Saturday.

A total of 76 samples, out of 193, came positive for Covid-19 this morning, with the positivity rate of 39.38 per cent.

Among the newly infected cases, 35 are in Damurhuada and Sadar upazila each, four in Alamdanga, and two in Jibannagar.

Only 44 infected patients are kept at isolation unit in Chuadanga Sadar Hospital and the rest are in home quarantine, the civil surgeon added.

As many as 1,938 patients have already been recovered from the virus while 76 died in the district.

The first coronavirus patient was reported in the district on March 19 last year.

Meanwhile, Damurhuda upazila is now under lockdown for two weeks.
