Police have accepted the written allegation of actress Shamsunnahar Smrity, popularly known as Pori Moni, for assaulting and attempt to murder her.

The written allegation have been filed with Roopnagar and Savar Police Staions, DMP Mirpur Division Deputy Commissioner  ASM Mahtab Uddin confirmed on Monday morning.

"As the incident is under Savar Police Station, so we sent the another allegation to Savar from Roopnagar. But no case has yet been lodged," he said.

The actress accused one businessman Nasir Uddin Ahmed in her written allegation.

She disclosed the overall incident to media in a press conference on Sunday night, hours after posting a Facebook status over it.

In her Facebook status she alleged that someone had tried to rape and murder her. She also sought justice from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Pori Moni claimed that although the incident took place about four days ago, nobody from the law enforcement agency came to her help.

bdnews24.com reports, She told media that she went to the boating club with costume designer Jimmy and Jimmy’s friend Omi, both identified by one name, at night of June 9 when it was about to be closing for the day.

Nasir and another man offered them a drink at that time, but she declined the offer, saying that she was feeling unwell. The people at the club tried to force her to drink. They beat her up as well. And Nasir forced the neck of a bottle into her mouth, she alleged.

Pori Moni alleged the businessman tried to rape her at that time.

When she was able to get out after two and a half hours, Pori Moni said, she went straight to the Banani Police Station but the officials did not want to hear her words because her breath was reeking of alcohol at that time.

At one stage, they sent her to Evercare Hospital to “flush the alcoholic content” out of her. She went home from the hospital.

The actress said she then contacted Zayed Khan, general secretary of Film Artists Association, and other leaders of the film industry.

Zayed said Pori Moni told him about the incident and requested an audience with IGP Benazir.

The actor then told her to wait until Sunday as the IGP was in Rajshahi and wanted to take her to the local police station, but Pori Moni said that the police did hear her complaint.
