No sufferings on ferry, transports charging extra fare
Although there is no suffering at the Paturia-Daulatdia ferry crossing on Tuesday, passengers have to pay extra fares to return the capital for joining work.
People from 21 districts in the south-west region are returning Dhaka after celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr.
Passengers complained that they had to pay several times more fares for alternative vehicles as government suspend the long-distance public transports.
They are using regional buses, private cars, microbuses and motorbikes while coming to Dhaka from home.
One Samiul Alam from Faridpur said there was lots of suffering at the Paturia ferry ghat before Eid due to lack of ferries. But it became easy while returning Dhaka as there were available ferries.
Manikganj’s Shibaloy Upazila Nirbahi Officer BM Ruhul Amin Rimon said some transports were fined by conducting mobile court on Monday for taking extra fares.
They will also conduct mobile court today to ease the suffering of the passengers.
