Decomposed body of woman found in Ctg, killer caught in Gazipur

Decomposed body of a young woman was recovered from a house at Pahartali in Chattogram city on April 1. After her burial as an unclaimed person, police find out the woman's family based on a clue found in the house. Later, an intensive investigation was launched and the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) succeeded to arrest the alleged killer from Gazipur.
CID's Chattogram Divisional Deputy Inspector General of Police Habibur Rahman disclosed it at a press conference at the CID Head Office at Malibagh in Dhaka on Saturday afternoon.
Quoting arrested Pallab Barman, DIG Habibur Rahman said the woman fled home with Pallab in sequel to her relationship with him. There was a strong disagreement between them and on March 2, Pallab Barman had allegedly murdered the woman offering her a glass of sarbat mixing poison. Then he fled the house locking the doors from outside with cash from the house.
The CID official said the woman's identity could not be ascertained for as many as 26 days. Meantime, she was buried as an unclaimed person. Afterward, the CID contacted with the woman's father based on a clue. The father identified his daughter on April 26 after checking her cloth. Later a murder case was filed with Pahartali police station.
According to the statement of the father, one Pallab Barman, 34, abducted his 28-year-old daughter at about 12:00 noon on January 18 last. He also filed a case with Gazzipur police station. Later, the CID arrested Pallab Barman from Tongi in Gazipur identifying his whereabouts.
