Country's largest COVID-19 hospital will be inaugurated on Sunday

A specialised COVID-19 hospital, housed at Dhaka North City Corporation's (DNCC) kitchen market at Mohakhali in Dhaka, is going to be inaugurated on Sunday.
"The dedicated hospital will have 100 intensive care units (ICUs) and 112 high dependency units (HDUs) for COVID-19 patients,’ the hospital director Brigadier General AKM Nasir Uddin said on Friday.
It will be operated under the supervision of Bangladesh Army.
The hospital is comprised of 1,80,560 square feet area. The kitchen market has so far been used for coronavirus isolation centre and coronavirus testing lab for the people going abroad. Though COVID-19 hospital's operation will start now, coronavirus isolation centre and coronavirus testing lab will continue to operate separately.
He said that they also were installing all necessary laboratories and testing facilities with 60 emergency beds.
AKM Nasir Uddin said the central oxygen supply system, generator and other facilities have already installed at the hospital, adding that Health Minister Zahid Maleque is expected to inaugurate the hospital on Sunday.
"Treatment to COVID-19 infected patients will be provided at the hospital now. But, no operation will be conducted here," he said.
