Strict lockdown from April 14, factories to remain open

The government has imposed a eight-day strict lockdown from April 14-21.
The shopping malls and markets across the country will remain closed during this period. Kitchen markets and grocery shops will remain open from 9am to 3pm in open places maintaining the health guidelines.
The Cabinet Division issued a gazette notification on Monday in this regard.
All government, semi-government and private organisations will remain closed during the lockdown and all employees must take position at their work stations. But emergency services like airport, seaport, riverport offices will remain open.
Bangladesh Supreme Court will issue necessary directives for the courts.
All modes of transports (road, sea, rail, domestic and international flights) will be closed. But this order is not applicable for transportation of commodities, production and emergency services
However, factories and industries will remain open and the workers must ensure transportation from their own organisations.
Restaurants can provide home delivery services from 12pm to 7pm and 12am to 6am.
Banks and financial institutions will remain closed during the period.
Law enforcement agencies and other emergency services transport like vehicle used for agriculture, relief, health care, fuel, water, electricity, fire service, telephone and internet connections, mass media purpose will also be out of the restrictions.
Ministry of Religious Affairs will issue guidelines on the congregation of Jum'a and Taraweeh prayers.
District and field administrations will take effective steps to implement the guidelines and law enforcement will intensify regular patrols.
