Noted Rabindra Sangeet singer Mita Haque dies of COVID-19


Noted Rabindra Sangeet singer and Ekushey Padak winner Mita Haque has died of COVID-19 at Bangladesh Specialized Hospital in Dhaka. 

She breathed her last while undergoing treatment at the hospital at about 6:20 am on Sunday. 

Mita Haque’s daughter Farhin Khan Joyita confirmed the death news.

She tested positive for novel coronavirus on March 25 and was in isolation at home. She was admitted to the hospital on March 31 and discharged after 11 days.





Mita Haque, wife of late actor Khaled Khan, was again rushed to the hospital on Saturday where she died this morning. 

She was born in 1962. She was awarded Ekushey Padak, the second highest civilian award in Bangladesh, by the government in 2020 for her contributions to music.
