Rajshahi land dispute injures 10, four by bullets
A clash between two rival groups over the ownership of char lands left 10 poeple injured, including four by bullets, in Bagha upazila of Rajshahi on Sunday.
Police said an altercation took place between Mojnu Hossain Dorji and Dila Islam Bepari at Choumadia Char in the river Padma around 10:30am over cleaning weeds of a land that led to a clash.
Both groups equipped with guns and lethal weapons pounded each others that left 10 poeple including a woman injured.
The injured were first taken to the upazila health complex. Of them, nine were, later, shifted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital following deterioration of their condition.
Those who received bullet wounds are: Abdur Razzaque,30, Liton Dhali,35, Dulal Dorji,30, and Morion Begum, 35, wife of Dilu Dorji.
Bagha Police OC Nazrul Islam said additional police have been deployed in the area to avert further violence.
