'Daughter kills mother' for drug money in Brahmanbaria
A 27-year-old woman allegedly killed her mother at Banchharampur upazila in Brahmanbaria district on Sunday morning as she did not get money for buying drug.
Deceased Rahima Begulm, 50, was the wife of Babul Mia, a resident of Dashami village in the upazila.
Police, however, detained accused Papia Begum.
Local and police sources said Papia wanted money from her mother to buy Yaba pills.
Later, they locked into an altercation around 6am. At one point, Papia hacked Rahima with a machete, leaving her critically injured.
The injured was taken to local Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared her dead.
Banchharampur Police Station officer in-charge (OC) Razu Ahmed said police sent the body to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital morgue and detained the accused.
