Human chain protest sexual harassment of RMCH nurse

A human chain rally was held at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) on Tuesday in protest against the sexual harassment of a nurse by a doctor and demanding punishment to the accused.

The RMCH nurses, under the banner Bangladesh Nurses Association, Rajshahi Branch, joined the programme in front of the hospital's main gate in the afternoon.

They alleged that the probe body is dilly-dallying to submit the report.
 
The accused doctor, a diploma student of Anesthesia dept at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), is completing his course from the RMCH.

He is posted at the hospital's ICU. He allegedly sexually harassed a nurse at the ICU on January 18 and 19.

Meanwhile, the accused physician was relieved of his duty and a probe body formed to investigate the matter.





Contacted, RMCH deputy director Dr Saiful Ferdous said action would be taken against the accused if his guilt is proved in the investigation.
