5 to die in Manikganj over ex-UP member murder

Judge Shahana Haque Siddiqua delivered the verdict in presence of the condemned convicts.

The five convicts are Manjur Rahman, 17, Moazzem Hossain, 35, Md Babul Miah, 34, Azizul Haque, 22, and Feli Begum, 18.

Prosecutor Niranjan Bosak said, the accused attacked Asharaf Ali with lethal weapons on June 18, 2013, in Fulhara village under Ghio upazila following a land dispute. The next day, he died while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Dhaka.

The victim's brother Monsur Ali lodged the case with Ghior Police Station on June 20 accusing 25 people.





The case investigation officer deputy police inspector Hasmat Ali submitted chargesheet against 18 accused on May 31, 2014.
